Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service visit Nursery.
As part of our People Who Help Us topic, we had a special visit from local firefighters Marie and Seamus from Dungiven Fire Station. The children had lots of fun. The highlight of the visit was exploring the fire engine and learning about all the equipment and tools the firefighters use to put out fires and rescue people. The children got to see all of the many pieces of the fire fighters uniform that helps to keep them safe. They were thrilled to get a chance to sit in the fire engine and help fire fighter Marie count down to sound the noisy siren.
To finish the visit the children got a chance to be a fire fighter and use the water hose, which proved very exciting.
We are very grateful to Marie and Seamus for taking time out of their busy schedule to visit us and talking to the children about their job. A special word of thanks to Niamh's daddy Seamus for organising this visit.
We appreciate your dedication to keeping our community safe!
