Aaron Devlin Memorial Tournament
Our boys' football team rounded off a great year by winning the Aaron Devlin Memorial Tournament on Friday 21st June. After winning their three group games, they progressed to the quarter finals where they overcame Ballymaguigan. In the semi final they overcame Ardboe with a fantastic point from Padraig O'Kane as the game was heading into injury time. In the final against Anahorish the boys showed great character to come from two points down in the last minute to grab a two point victory, as first Cahir O'Neill slipped in behind the defence to gather a long ball out of defence and race through to calmly drill the ball to the corner of the net. From the kick out, Paddy Higgins gained possession and thumped over a tremendous point to ensure victory. Well done to all of the panel on a fantastic achievement. Also well done to our girls' team who came through their group games undefeated to reach the knockout stages. They defeated Ardboe in the quarter final, before losing out by one point to Anahorish in an exciting semi final. Well done to all the girls who displayed great skill and sportsmanship throughout the day. Both teams have been great representatives for our school all year.
